Best Stocking Stuffers for 2016

December 16, 2016

We’re one week out from Christmas AND Chanukah. That’s right — they overlap this year. Which has made holiday shopping for my family… interesting? It’s been tough to juggle gifts and trying to figure out who’s getting what and when. After all, there’s Christmas Eve / First Night of Chanukah, Christmas Day / Second Night of Chanukah, and then six more nights of gift giving left. It seems like it will be never-ending. For parents: notsogood. For kids: WAHOO!!!!! So it’s important to have your gift ideas ready to go, whether that is getting the latest hip toy or Personalised Keyrings to fill your stockings. It pays to be prepared during this time of the year.

Yesterday I posted one of my favorite posts of the year — the 2016 Ultimate Holiday Gift Giving Guide for Athletes. Today I’m continuing with that theme and giving you a list of the best stocking stuffers for 2016. One week to finish up that shopping, folks!

Best Stocking Stuffers for 2016

Lip balm

It appears winter is coming with a vengeance this year. We’ve already hit record snowfalls and record temperatures and it’s not even technically winter yet. When it’s cold and dry, everyone needs lip balm. Runners, skiers and snowboarders, stay-at-home dads, working moms, and kids alike. No one is spared! Spread the lip moisture love and stuff a stocking or two with some lip balm. DCT by Blistex is my fave.

Hand warmers

I made mention of hand warmers briefly yesterday. I truly cannot tell you not to underestimate the power of warm hands, especially when it comes to running and other outdoor sports. For those of you that get hot quickly, here’s a little trick: use one hand warmer. When one hand gets hot, switch hands. Keep swapping back and forth. You’re unlikely to get too hot, but you won’t be so uncomfortable by being cold that you can’t participate in your sport.

Hand warmers like HotHands and Grabber are perfect for cold, wintry days. And they make perfect stocking stuffers.

Socks

Who doesn’t love a new pair of socks? This is applicable to all ages and sizes. Whether you want to gift someone a pair of Custom Pets Socks or some sports socks, everyone loves receiving a new pair of socks! They’re such a great stocking stuffer in my opinion. My kids love new socks. I love new socks. My husband loves new socks. Fuzzy socks, running socks, and my all-time faves? YakTrax Outdoor Cabin Socks. They are amazing. Best socks I’ve ever owned.

Headbands

Everyone needs a headband in their life. Men and women included. Bondi Band makes one badass headband. There are a million colors and styles to choose from. No matter what options you pick, you can be certain of two things: 1) the Bondi Band headband will never slip regardless of how much you sweat and 2) the quality is top-notch. If you take care of it, your Bondi Band headband will last for many years to come.

Road ID

Safety first, right? That’s a common theme around here. If your loved one already has a Road ID, you can purchase fun little add-ons like badges and spare bands. If you’re considering a Road ID, I’d order soon. They always have awesome sales during the holiday season! Great time to stock up and save!

Obviously great minds think alike, but team sweatybands all the way. I tried Bondi bands; I’ll stick with sweaty bands. But I had no idea Yaktrax made socks! And lip balm is a good one!

My favorite holiday cookies are the kiss PB blossoms, because you know, chocolate & PB.

It’s kind of stressful that they’re together! Now that I *think* I have a system figured out, we might be spared toy-explosion-2016. I hope.

Yes on lip balm. Dear lord, I’m using it like crazy, and I’m not even in cold weather yet. I think it’s the heater that’s to blame.

Lip balm is such a good idea-especially for winter running! My fave holiday cookies are the peanut butter blossoms-okay so they might not be holiday specific but I associate them with Christmas because that was the only time of year I ate them as a child πŸ™‚
