As you probably know, I’m currently in training. And I’ve found myself really, really hungry — again. My life: run, eat, shower, sleep, repeat. I think “eat” can be thrown in there a few more times for a more accurate picture. But eating can be so frustrating when I’m in training. I want to fuel with the best foods possible but I seemingly can’t stay satiated! I don’t want to load up on garbage but what to do? Oh, I’ll tell you what to do…
You smoothie!
Today I’ve rounded up some of the best smoothie recipes within the blogging community. I lovingly call this the “Training Cycle Smoothie Roundup.” Because let’s face it, smoothies can pack a lot of nutritional punch if done right. Next time you I we find ourselves with an insatiable appetite, try one of these amazing smoothies. All of these recipes feature real ingredients — stuff you can pronounce. Plus the ingredients are things you actually want in your training cycle smoothie and diet. Enjoy!

TALK TO ME!
What’s your favorite smoothie recipe staple? <—— mine is banana!
In terms of a protein powder for a smoothie, pick one: chocolate or vanilla!

I usually make smoothies all the time, but its always great to find new recipes to try! This is a great list-definitely pinning it. Thanks for sharing my post!
Of course, thank you for contributing!
I love smoothies. I usually “go to” blueberries and bananas so having more ideas to choose from will help me with some variety.
Thanks for including me! I was on sucha smoothie kick until I ran out of my peptides and it broke the cycle. But now I make them with lunch more than in the mornings like I was.
Thanks for contributing! I love smoothies. All day, every day.
Ooooh. I need these. All of the these as I train for my first full marathon in April.
So exciting!! 🙂
These all look great! I need to get back into drinking more Smoothies, looking forward to trying a few of these…Pinned! 🙂
Thanks!
I’m a huge smoothie proponent. Lol.
the hunger is real! I usually have more smoothies when it’s warmer outside. These all look so pretty and decadent thanks for sharing and for the roundup
The hunger is totally real!! 🙂
Thanks for the roundup! I’m a HUGE lover of smoothies (typing this as I drink my morning green smoothie!)
Mmmmmm smoothies… 🙂 🙂 🙂
These are some gorgeous smoothies! So good too! Thanks so much for hosting and good luck with the training.
Thank you, Julie!
Yay for smoothies!
🙂 I agree!
Oooh these all look and sound fantastic! You know me, I’m a smoothie freak! Pinning for later so I can give them a try! 😛
Hehe, I’m a smoothie freak too. Great minds, girl. 😉
Drinking a smoothie as I read this post! I’m all about the anti-inflammatory ingredients these days. Actually, I’m working on a post about this for Friday.
Awesome! I look forward to reading it. I’ll take all the tips I can get. My body has sucked the last few days.
I love smoothies and I make them a lot. I need to branch out from my routine though. Thanks for all the new recipes!
It’s so easy to get in a smoothie rut. But we know what we like, right? 😉
Yes I train year round and am always hungry! Thank you for sharing all the smoothie recipes!!
I hope you find something you love!
Well, you know I’m all about that Chocolate Peanut Butter protein one! I don’t know what I’d do without protein smoothies for my recovery fuel.
Haha yup!
Oh gosh I can’t choose between chocolate and vanilla protein powder. The love is equal. I find throwing oatmeal in my smoothie helps me stay satisfied longer.
Oatmeal is a brilliant idea. Did I see you post that on IG somewhat recently? I can’t remember if it was you or someone else.
I’ve had chocolate protein powder once. I can’t believe it myself…
I need to look these over. I’m not much of a smoothie gal. Unlike you, I’m not a banana gal either LOL I developed a huge aversion to bananas when I was pregnant with our son (second child) and the aversion stuck. I can eat banana bread, muffins, etc., but anything with “unbaked” bananas just w on’t be happening. I know…#highmaintainence
I have a friend who had the exact same experience with bananas during pregnancy! I don’t think she’s gone back to eating bananas either come to think of it. My cousin also hates bananas but completely unrelated to babies.
Banana is my favorite smoothie staple, too. It just makes them perfectly sweet and creamy. I also love frozen tart cherry juice for after long runs.
Frozen tart cherry juice sounds delicious. I’ve never tried that but I do drink my fair share of tart cherry juice. I shall try! Thanks!
I’m all about the smoothies, especially when they include bananas and strawberries. Looking forward to checking out some new recipes.
Me too! Bananas and strawberries are the best!
YES thank you for sharing! I need some of these!
Awesome!
Great roundup! Great way to stay satiated too! I am always ravenous when I am trying.
Thanks!
I seriously can’t eat enough for the life of me. I want to walk up and down the aisles of the grocery stuffing my face. Hahah That may be frowned upon…
Fantastic roundup!
I really wish I was more into smoothies, but the texture throws me. I should get a new blender and see if I can’t find a recipe that works for me.
Yeah I could see that. Sometimes if I don’t add enough liquid it’s no good… I have a ninja and it works pretty well.
I made a full blender of smoothies tonight – was able to freeze some for my daughter’s lunches. I used mango, pineapple, banana and strawberry yogurt. I would normally use coconut or vanilla yogurt but we were out.
Yum, that sounds awesome. So when she takes them for lunch is it frozen? Does she eat it like yogurt with a spoon?
I’ll take it out the night before and let it thaw in the fridge. I give it a good shake in the morning to break up any clumps and then use it to keep the other foods cold in her bag. By lunch time it’s good to drink.
This is a great idea. Mind if I borrow it? What do you freeze it in? Sorry for the 20 questions. Haha
Yes, go ahead! I use plastic jam jars. The freeze well and stack on top of one another. The brand I use is called “ball”. You can get them in different sizes. Enjoy!
Oh I have Ball glass jars! I didn’t know they made plastic too. Brilliant! Thank you. 🙂
I’m a big smoothie lover, so many delicious combos there is always one that hits the spot and meets training needs and or nutritional needs!
I’m a big smoothie lover, too. Mmmmm!
What a great roundup! Thanks so much for including my chocolate cherry recovery smoothie. I can’t wait to drink my way through the rest of this list! 😉
Thank you for contributing!
I’m so with you on wanting to fuel well in a training cycle!
Some days I jsut can’t get enough to eat and will sit on the couch with a box of crackers and a box of cheese! ha.
Smoothies are my favourite – I have one for breakfast every weekday.
OMG I do that, too. But then I feel like I’m fueling myself with something horrible because it’s not like “real food” and all that… so many eating rules. Lol. Just give me a bag of Doritos.
These look amazing! I can’t wait to try them…and thanks for rounding them up in one place! I definitely need to get better about fueling my long runs. And as far as protein powder? Chocolate all the way! I find most of the vanillas much too sweet.
Lol, sweet is the name of the game for me. 😉
Thanks for checking them out! Hope you like.
There isn’t better way to start a day than preparing a smoothie. I would definitely try them, Rachel!
I love a good smoothie 🙂
